Achieving Zero-Impact Emissions with a Gasoline Passenger Car

نویسندگان

چکیده

The Euro 7 legislation and the Zero-Impact Emissions concept aim at significantly improving air quality. Technologies that reduce pollutant emissions beyond current gasoline passenger cars have already been intensively investigated, but a holistic system layout considering extended boundary conditions is missing so far. This paper therefore develops technical solutions to achieve scenario for 2030+ vehicle. First, challenging test scenarios are identified develop compliant vehicles. cover extreme in real-world driving, such as hot cold ambient conditions, stop-and-go rural areas or high speed steep gradients on highways. Different technology options discussed selected investigations. An empirical–physical simulation model exhaust gas aftertreatment with new technologies, an electrical heater disc front of catalyst burner system. In addition stoichiometric engine operation increased volume, results show expected regulations can be achieved all by combining additional heating power limitation pre-heating. Moreover, even most cases same options.

Carbonyl compound emissions from passenger cars fueled with methanol/gasoline blends.

Carbonyl compound emissions from two passenger cars fueled with different methanol/gasoline blends (M15 and M100) and operated with three-way catalytic converters (TWC) were investigated. The tests were performed on a chassis dynamometer with constant volume sampling over the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). Carbonyls were trapped on dinitrophenylhydrazine (DNPH) cartridges. The hydrazones fo...

Real-world emissions of gasoline passenger cars in Macao and their correlation with driving conditions

Using a portable emissions measurement system, 16 gasoline passenger cars were tested on a fixed route consisting of different types of roads in Macao and the data were normalized with the vehicle-specific power bin method. The normalized HC, CO and NOX emission levels of the seven passenger car samples with model year older than 2000 were 3.19 ± 5.04, 14.59 ± 22.88, 2.57 ± 2.12 g/km, respectiv...

A Least-cost Approach to Reduce Co2-emissions in Passenger Car Transport: This Time Economics Will Kill the Electric Car

Reducing CO2 emissions (note that CO2 refers to CO2-equivalents) in road passenger car transport is a major objective of many governments world-wide. To meet this goal various types of policy strategies – fuel or registration taxes, promotion of biofuels, technical efficiency improvements of conventional cars as well as introduction of hybrid and battery electric vehicles (BEV) – are considered...
